Sweet Almond Carrier Oil Cold Pressed
Sweet Almond has been used for many years. It holds many inherent health benefits. Despite the use of Almond oil in beauty preparations, scientists have now explored its’s amazing healing properties.
Grown in Southeast Asia and in the Mediterranean, the almond kernels produce a nutty oil. The top quality oil is obtained through the cold press method using 40 – 60% of kernels. The oil has a viscous consistency, and is thicker than grapeseed oil. Sweet Almond is a very versatile oil which doesn’t become rancid easily. This rich protective nourishing carrier oil is very popular in aromatherapy. Rich in Oleic acid (mono-unsaturated fatty acid) hence it is suitable for dry and itchy skin.
Due to the Vitamin D and protein components, has a positive effect on osteoarthritis and osteoporosis.
Used to treat
- Sweet almond blended in a lotion or vegetable based cream, hence is perfect for mature skin or dehydrated skin.
- Soothing and healing for nappy rash.
- Eczema.
- Nails – a little Sweet Almond rubbed into the nails everyday to improve their quality.
- Chapped and irritated skin
- Good for our heart, skin and hair.
Sweet Almond contains these vital vitamins:
- Vitamin A, Vitamin B1, with Vitamin B2, Vitamin B6,
- Vitamin D and protein.
- Linoleic acid and many minerals.
Sweet Almond is rich in Vitamin E, monounsaturated fatty acids, proteins, potassium and zinc.
The ratio of 20/80 is ideal with another carrier oil, for example 20% Sweet Almond with 80% Sunflower or Grapeseed Oil.
