Acute Injuries
Instant Ice packs available prove an effective emergency and precautionary measure, therefore ideal to take to any sporting event.
If an injury requires compression, elasticated bandages are effective in reducing swelling. After 4 to 7 days. a specialist injury therapist should be consulted for assessment and further treatment.
Treatment may include low level laser therapy (rapidly increases healing with no side effects), ultrasound, combined with deep tissue massage with specific essential oils. Kinesiology taping is advocated for many sporting injuries (tendon and muscle damage) promoting healing.
Following any treatment you maybe advised to use either hot or cold therapy or Biofreeze pain relief available in a spray, gel, or roll on.
Rest and relaxation is a great healer.
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain is common in conditions such as arthritis, cancer, other medical problems or injuries. Aromatherapy and other holistic therapies are extremely effective for nearly all chronic conditions. Unfortunately pain relief tablets tend only to mask the pain for a time period, hence only treating the symptom (pain) and not the cause. Essential oils such as lavender and camomile are proactive in the treatment of wounds, bruising and sprains whilst reducing inflammation.
Rehabilitation and Aftercare
Exercises may be advised to help regain full strength and mobility. The therapist may recommend protective neoprene supports or theraband to aid recovery.
