Niaouli Melaleucca Viridiflora Top Note Antimicrobial, antifungal and antiviral.
Niaouli is a large evergreen tree with the botanical name of Melaleuca Viridiflora and it is a native to Australia and grown in Madagascar. The tree is closely related to tea tree, Eucalyptus and Cajuput.The oil is produced by steam distillation of the leaves and twigs. It is now widely used in a large variety of cosmetics such as lotions, creams, soaps, and toothpastes. The aroma isn’t as strong as Tea tree.
Niaouli Essential Oil has a similar aroma to eucalyptus due to the high content of 1,8 Cineole, but has its own features. It is sweeter and fuller than eucalyptus, with a faint trace of spiciness that makes it less medicinal. As a comparison; tea tree is probably the best all round antiseptic, whereas Niaouli essential oil is more preferable when fighting bacterial and viral infections.
Properties : analgesic, anti-rheumatic, antiseptic, bactericidal, balsamic, cicatrisant, decongestant, expectorant, febrifuge, insecticide, stimulant, disinfectant and antiseptic properties.
Used to treat
Pain – the oil can numb nerves in a painful area : Headaches, toothache, migraines, earache.
Muscles , sprains, strains and joint pain.
Stimulates circulation preventing uric acid build up: hence helpful for arthritis, rheumatism and gout.
Weakened immune systems- stimulates the formation of white blood cells and antibodies
Infections to colon and urinary tract.:
Open wounds which can be prone to infections since bacteria, fungi.
Colds, sorethroats, coughs.
Inhalation for blocked sinuses
Use on a tissue or gargle with a couple of drops in warm water to ease a cold and prevent further infection
