Description
Cardamom essential oil Base note
(Elettaria cardamomum) is actually from the ginger family.
The seeds are dried for over 3 months and the oil is obtained through steam distillation. It is grown in many places all over the world including India. Guatemala however has the best growing conditions from which the most potent oil is produced. Most people are familiar with the smell and taste of cardamom as it used in many Indian curries.
It’s generally gentler and safer for children than other oils. Because many digestive or respiratory oils, such as Eucalyptus or Peppermint, are often avoided with younger kids, it can be hard to find suitable solutions. But cardamom can actually be a great substitute for many digestive and respiratory needs. I would still dilute,
