<p>Anise Star Illicium Verum    Digestive, pungent and de-toxifying.</p>
<p>Anise Star Illicium Verum is as Star anise or aniseed. In Latin- (Pimpinella anisum). This herb belongs to the Apiaceae family.</p>
<p>Originally from Asia, and now grown in the Mediterranean countries.  In ancient Rome, anise was often added (together with cumin and fennel) to a cake eaten after meals The Egyptians used the Anise to flavour breads. The Romans introduced Anise alongside Fennel and many other plants to Europe.</p>
<p>Similarly early settlers introduced  Star Anise to North America. Primarily, Anise was used to promote digestive health.</p>
